A Notice...

As you are all aware, this Tuesday a meeting was held in the college, between the representatives of the management of our institution, and the students and faculty of MSIT.

The three members of the said team arrived at our college approximately an hour after their scheduled time… and without our principal who had not been seen in the college premises since his ‘promise’, to provide us a copy of the management’s decision after their ‘supposed’ meeting regarding S.M sir’s reappointment… last Wednesday.

The principal arrived some while later, owing largely due a lot of effort on the part of our faculty… in impressing upon him, the necessity of his presence at the meeting.

We, the students got our first chance to speak with the group sometime in the late evening. Our primary discussion proved to be fruitless and aggravating owing to their insistence that the best ‘solution’ to our ‘situation’, was a joint ‘informal’ request to S.M sir, begging him to rejoin his post.

This so called solution would of course be nothing more than an affront to the dignity of S.M sir, and as such warrants not even the slightest hesitation before its discarding.

Also it was revealed that the three representatives, while claiming to have been ‘authorized by the highest authority’… ‘Could not’ for some reason provide us a written report assuring us of S.M sir’s return within a fixed time frame.

Naturally, we requested them to contact their superior, the director of MSIT, TKG sir, who we assumed would be able to deal with situation on a more direct basis.

However, TKG sir could not be reached, and the deadlock remained unbroken.

As such, the students of MSIT proceeded to stay the night in the college, with the aim of not leaving till at least some amount of progress was made on this front.

We were backed up throughout by our faculty members who also stayed back in support of our mutual cause.

After several more meetings… some lasting late into the night… we made some headway.

Early this morning, we eventually received from them a copy their first piece of official communication in this matter… three weeks after it all began.

The fax sent to TKG sir by the representatives clearly intones that he should meet with us at the earliest… preferably in MSIT itself, to address and help carry out S.M sir’s return to his beloved MSIT.

A second written undertaking on their part, further fixes the time of the proposed meeting within the next forty-eight hours, failing which the representatives shall return to the college to take further steps to help realize our ultimate and ulterior objective… reinstating S.M sir.

The forty-eight hour deadline expires on Friday. Hence, on Saturday we shall either be greeted with some much awaited good news that progress is being made… or prepare to face more false promises in the shape of the powerless trio that have visited us twice with nothing more than empty words..

Every one who is concerned with or by this situation… Saturday could be the day we have been looking forward to. Alternatively, it could also be the day when we are compelled to rethink our stratagem and adopt different means to work towards our goal.

Your presence, as a student of MSIT is expected irrespective of how strongly or not you may feel for the issue. If not in support of our crusade… at least out of sheer curiosity as to what shall happen.
