Foodie...

Ruben was crazy about food… both qualitatively as well as quantitatively…. Going out for lunch with him was always like an adventure trip for us… his colleagues. It was a half hour of undiluted awesomeness… every single time.
Things usually followed this pattern…. First Ruben would survey the menu… critically. He made remarks about how the items were listed wrong, or that they should be grouped differently… and many other things besides…. He certainly took his food seriously.

Musings...

“The main advantage of Matrix Minimization Technique over…” the lecturer droned on in his steady and horribly drowsing monotone….

I sat at the bench that I always occupied… on the rare occasions that I was present in class, at any rate… and stifled yet another yawn. I sank a little lower in my seat, rested my chin on the palm of my hand… and made myself a bit more comfortable.

Crushed...

Are you… or have you in the past been a ‘young adult’?
If the answer is yes… here’s a piece you’ll thoroughly be able to connect to. If no… well should make a funny non-personal read anyway…. So here I am, writing about my own phase of ‘being torn’ in a situation of doubt and all consuming heartaches…
It was the year 2005… and still being a round faced 'do-gooder', too short and unimpressive to make an impression on the ladies… my life was good.

College...

It is a certainty for all teenagers to meet with disappointment at some point of their lives. A very valuable lesson indeed… in order to ingrain some kind of values, experience and wisdom… or something to that effect I am sure….

One major such revelation to them, is ‘The Beginning of College Life’.

Date Don'ts...

All of us… read guys… suffer from a speech impediment cum thought disability from time to time. More often than not, this temporary variation from our usually hyperactive states is caused due to one of two reasons. Either we are being interrogated by a peeved principal or teacher… or we are being hollered at by a red faced parent. Of course in both of these situations, it is perhaps the best move to make a life like impersonation of a silent movie from the forties… however in some other cases it definitely isn’t.

Valentine's Day...

It is hardly a thing of surprise these days,
To watch facts and figures be altered.
When every bit of information we hear,
To serve some agenda, has been blurred.

The Broken String...

Softly, smoothly, the notes rolled on
Unbroken, unhindered the music flowed.
Melody, perfect by its own nature,
Picked up pace and again slowed.

Dawn...

We all have at some point in our lives stayed up all night. We all have also watched the sunrise. Each of these experiences is always memorable in some way. As if by going against our ingrained or hardwired habits, like sleep… we somehow embed the rarity of the occurrence deep in our minds.
Do not read on, if you are in search of an entertaining tale of humor and satire, or a dark and mesmerizing night. This is just me, writing about something I once encountered… and enjoyed.

Moving On...

Ever wondered what is ‘ok’?
Stopped to think what ‘normal’ means?
Attempted to ponder how to be ordinary?
Differentiated between reality and dreams?

More of Weirdo...

I am sure that all of you still remember our old friend ‘W’… here’s another incident starring him….
Reminiscing about W feels strange. It’s very hard for someone to describe him aptly, to someone else who has never met him in person. It’s just so confusing where to begin and where to end. It’s just so tough to figure out which deed of him to recount, when every day spent with him was in itself a course of laughter therapy….

The Weirdo...

Everyone has at least one acquaintance that they would always describe as… weird. They usually serve as a source of amusement, sometimes they are just plain embarrassing to have around… and very, very rarely do they actually serve any practical purpose.
This incident is about someone just like that.

Boredom...

Stare blankly at the empty wall,
Your gaze passing over and through all you see.
Your mind wanders miles away,
Rolling on the waves of some distant sea…

Drunk...

One night was pretty much like another for us….
We hit a disco, drank… a lot… we danced… and we found ourselves magically transported back to our beds the following morning… utterly clueless as to how we had spent the previous night.
Of course occasionally some of us woke up in some unknown stranger’s apartments… and got kicked out when our gracious host realized that her guest had no clue as to what her name was….
Also sometimes we found strangers sharing our roof… prompting us to remember urgent appointments elsewhere and usher our guest out and bolt….

Seduced...

With enough patience, the trap that has been set always gets sprung… but if the prey itself be willing, then even patience is unnecessary….
This was what she lived by.
Gorgeous would have been an understatement to describe her… a gift from god to beautify the dark earth… an angel without wings… but with a heart of ice.

Lonely...

Mindlessly I carry on,
More of an automaton than a living thinking being,
Every step and action is a reflex.
My existence… mechanical like a clockwork soldier,
Plodding on with no destination…

Powerless...

He was in a total mess… academically, mentally and even emotionally. The last should have been placed up front as, in a way that was the cause of the rest.
Obsessed with the pangs of unrequited… something that he thought was love, he was disturbed. This affected him completely enough to tamper with everything he was supposed to be giving priority to.
He was made to change tuition by his parents who were only aware of one field in which he was failing to cope.

The Rise of a Teen...

Hal was a lucky young man.
He had been constantly kept aware of this fact since as far long back as he could remember…
He was from a well to do family… he apparently was a descendant of aristocrats, which supposedly made him… well classier than others… and both his parents had high profile jobs.
He had always received whatever he had wished for… at least that’s what he was told….
Surprisingly, he seemed to remember being told this repeatedly, always in the context of some request or the other of his being turned down… time and time again….

A Perfect Night...

I stepped out of the warm light and started on my long walk home.

The city was still moist after the light drizzle of the evening. Now as night stilled the constant traffic and hushed the hue and cry of the people, I found myself strolling through a place very different to the one I had grown accustomed to.
