Regardless of the finer details, I always find that a rerun with a part of your past always tends to follow the same path every time.
The burning sense of anticipation is a typical start. You tend to space out and recollect all the things that you had experienced before things had changed. Every memory that you rifle through, is colored with a melancholic tinge designed to make you smile fondly.
The narrow band of dusty sunlight, filtering in through the gap in the curtains… the dizzying, ceaseless, revolutions of the tireless ceiling fan, the stillness… the silence… were all immaterial.
The air conditioned bedroom… my last retreat from the sultry afternoon, was now my own personal penitentiary.
